Great Lakes Software strives to develop
products that enhance the functionality and overall
efficiency of any organization. Both GLS Service
Manager 3.0.1 and the GLS PDA Asset
Module help you streamline your process to
free up valuable time for other productivity tasks.
|
GLS Service Manager 3.0.1 allows you
to track service requests and manage your assets.
It allows unlimited users to request service on a
piece of equipment quickly and efficiently, directly
from any workstation. Your administration location
will instantly receive a work order for the request.
Technician assignment is easy with multi-level priority
assignment. Your technicians can access service requests
from any remote workstation reducing downtime. This
system allows both the end-user and technician to
communicate clearly and efficiently, minimizing the
time it takes for problem requests to be processed
and completed. Requestors can look at the status
of their request easily, reducing the follow up calls
asking about their request. Preventative maintenance
is easy to pre-schedule and assign and consumable
inventory parts can be tracked and assigned to tickets
for a better inventory control process.
|
|
| With the use of the GLS PDA Asset Module,
you can scan inventory and get a complete history of
each asset, all on a mobile platform, giving an accurate
picture of assets status with the simple click of a
button. |

What does it do?
The PDA Asset Module will allow an organization
the ability to manage all it's assets using simple
PDA devices and standard bar codes. Simply scan a bar
code using a PDA device outfitted with a scanner attachment
and all the important data pertaining to a piece of
equipment can be added, edited or viewed from the database.
The user then has many options about how this data
will be sorted and managed.
How does it run?
The PDA Asset Module runs on a standard
PDA attached to a Symbol Scanner. This allows the
PDA to function as a scanning device. To use it,
the user will simply have to push a button while
pointing the PDA at a bar code that will be attached
to all assets within the organization. The PDA will
display details of that asset and allow the technician
to update that asset with any additional or changed
information.
What are some of the features?
The PDA Asset Module tracks many of the same asset fields in the GLS
Service Manager application synchronizes with GLS Service Manager and
flags those changes made in the field. It can create on screen reports of all
assets within the organization by building or room counts. It features fast
asset inventory checks, creating less disruption and thus less down time due
to inventory count. The module can then track the Asset Status of that equipment
and flag it to the user, giving the user messages such as "Deployed out
in the field" or "In shop for repair" to describe where the
item is at this time. It also allows for a quick check as to where an asset
is by building and room. It features a duplicate data base of GLS Service
Manager that allows you to take your asset information with you to
meetings and answer any questions regarding it.
